CHERRY ORCHARD CHILD POVERTY NEEDS ANALYSIS

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Ballyfermot Chapelizod Partnership (BCP) in partnership with the
Cherry Orchard Development Group, Dublin City Council and Family
Matters Area Based Childhood Programme, is inviting expressions of
interest to carry out this Community Based Action Research, as part of
a prevention and early intervention response to Child Poverty in the
area.

Successful candidates are expected to undertake a targeted, child
poverty needs analysis to ascertain the following:

* Up to date statistics, poverty indicators data and current level of
child and family services for young children aged **Apply on the

* The views of parents, guardians, agencies and service providers
regarding the prevalence of family and its impact on children
* Literature review on child poverty and its impact on children?s
outcomes
* Produce a final report, that will inform with recommendations and
actions, the community and statutory stakeholders? response to child
poverty in the Cherry Orchard area.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

* Examples of similar, previous work
* Overview of the proposed project approach and methodology
* Summary timeline and budget

Tenders submitted should clearly outline methodologies that will be
used to achieve hearing the voice of parents, guardians and agency
personnel as an essential element of this Action Research.

CRITERIA

Applicants should have:

* Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline
* Knowledge of child and family and social support services and
policies
* Experience of using desk-based research, qualitative and
quantitative research methods as well as facilitating group
discussions.
* Knowledge and experience of working with multi-agency steering
groups and stakeholders
* Knowledge and experience of participatory research methods with
parents and agency personnel
* Commitment to the principles of community development.
* Proven track record in delivering similar/related pieces of work
